Software Engineer
Location: Seattle
Your role is developing algorithms and software design, which was developed to restore communication for people who have lost their ability to speak. In this position, you'll enable millions of people around the world to communicate with their loved ones and contribute to the society again.
Qualifications:
* BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
* Min 3 years of software/ algorithm development and design experience of a successful commercial product.
* Extensive programming experience with C or C++. Experience with Labview is a plus.
* Excellent project management skills.
* Experience in one or more of the following areas:
o Intuitive user interface design o Signal processing / speech processing
o System modeling and machine learning o Neural network
* Excellent problem solving skills. Innovative thinker, driven to create superior technology & product.
* Ability to work individually in a start-up environment, and professionally as part of a team.
* Motivation to make technology work for people. Good understanding of human factor design.
* Must be a self-starter with high levels of initiative.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills.

The client’s mission is to create technology that increases human functionality and enhances digital experiences in people's lives. Founded in 2005, they developed a device capable of translating neurological information from the brain into speech. Commercialization of the product will begin with people who need the technology most, followed by expansion into consumer markets. The first product, launching at the end of 2008, is a biomedical communication device for people who have lost the ability to speak due to disease or injury.
